Training Methodology
After the 4-week course during which your dog is trained at the school, we conduct the owner-training portion of the course.
The first stage is for us to demonstrate exactly what your dog has been taught during the course. You will be amazed at what can be achieved in such a short time.
The second stage is to teach you how to achieve the same response from your dog. We do this on a one to one basis – along with your dog, of course. Now is the time to ask questions and address any concerns. No question is too simple or foolish!
The aim of this is for you to progress in a steady controlled manner, to establish a new relationship with your dog, and to develop your handling skills.
Importance of Socializing your Dog – Having a socialized dog results in less stressful visits to the VET, Peaceful trips to the dog park, and to take your dog on walks without worrying that he might snap at someone or something unexpectedly or begin chasing a squirrel or a child on a bicycle. When your socialized dog faces unfamiliar dogs, people, and places without fear, he will be happier, calmer and more confident throughout his life, making your responsibility as a dog owner easier and more enjoyable.
